Facilities Assistant

Maintenance Worker

Pool Operator
Closes: Until filled : The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is accepting applications for a seasonal Pool Operator to manage and maintain all aspects of the public swimming pool at Smith-Hazel Recreation Center. Major duties include: Assist with recruitment, hiring and certifying of lifeguards and water safety instructors; Manage pool operation in accordance with SC DHEC regulations; Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies; Check and maintain proper chemical levels in pool; Backwash filters and maintain proper water levels; Ensure pool is vacuumed and surrounding area is clean and inviting to guests; Provide positive guest experience; Implement SC DHEC safety procedures in relation to COVID-19; Supervise a staff ranging from 2-10 lifeguards, water safety instructors, and/or pool attendants; Schedule staff and anticipate any scheduling issues in order to handle coverage properly; Perform lifeguarding and water safety instructor duties; Oversee and direct Red Cross Certified swim lessons for youth and adults; Coordinate public swim hours and group swim schedules; Record attendance figures and complete all necessary log books; Collect and prepare daily receipts for deposit; Inventory chemicals for pool and cleaning supplies; Provide routine facility maintenance; Provide regular guidance and communication with Recreation Coordinator and Supervisor to manage and monitor pool operations; Assist in coordinating special events at the pool; Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Facilities Assistant - Tourism

Market duties are assisting with assignment of tables and collection of rent, enforcing market rules, site inspections of farms, and involvement in the operations of the SNAP and Healthy Bucks programs. Recreation Program Coordinator
Closes: Until filled : Description: The City of Aiken is seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator to join Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department in Recreation Division. Essential Duties: Develops, plans, markets, and supervises the coordination and implementation of leisure programs and special events for all ages. Schedules rental facilities, completes contracts, work requests, check requests, and diagrams for set ups. Enforces departmental rules and regulations. Assists with interviewing, training, and supervision of part-time and seasonal staff. Registers participants and receipts monies. Resolves customer concerns or complaints.
