Facilities Assistant (Part-time) Smith Hazel Pool Operator
Closes: Until filled : The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is accepting applications for year-round Part-Time Facilities Assistant to manage and maintain all aspects of the pool at Smith Hazel Recreation Center. Major duties include: Responsibilities are year round: October — March: Routine winter weekly maintenance (avg. 6-7 hrs/wk) including: checking, monitoring and balancing chemicals, cleaning skimmers & drains, basic overall inspection of pool facility. Closes: Until filled : The City of Aiken Planning Department is seeking a highly-motivated, creative, and customer service-oriented Planner. Major duties include: Under the supervision of the Planning Director, the Planner will provide staff support to the Planning Commission, Design Review Board, and/or Board of Zoning appeals in pursuit of the goals of the City of Aiken’s Comprehensive Plan. The position will be responsible for working with applicants, citizens and stakeholders regarding planning issues and applications, preparation of staff reports, public notices and other related planning documents, and associated record-keeping. The Planner may assist the Planning Director in the areas of annexation, historic preservation, public outreach, subdivision, site plan review, policy development, public outreach and other related planning functions. The position requires excellent analytical ability, written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal with multiple complex issues. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Real Estate or related field. One to three years of relevant planning experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
